Fitness Test

Upon entry and once a year, all members must conduct a test in order to assess abnormalities which may endanger the user’s health.

The test measures:

  • The weight
  • The height
  • The blood pressure
  • The heart beat
  • The flexibility
  • The abdominal strength

Wellness System

The Wellness System combines powerful software with sophisticated and state of the art equipments, cutting-edge technology, bringing a higher satisfaction to the users throughout their workout.
With a precise measurement of the workout carried out, the users can check their progress being constantly stimulated.
The system also enables the trainers and users to plan a customized exercise routine.

Customized training and evaluation

Includes an evaluation made by specialized doctors and qualified fitness instructors whom, in accordance to the needs and motivations of each person, diagnose, plan and enforce a personal exercise routine which may be performed on or off the center’s premises.
The Personal Training service is conducted trough the Wellness System, a customized training system, which allows a higher interaction and diversity of activities.
The system works trough a personal “TGS” key, where all data and training routine are stored.

The Physical Evaluation includes:

  • Medical observation and counseling
  • Somatic measures and body fat
  • Flexibility measure
  • Measure of muscular strength
  • Measure of cardio respiratory endurance
  • Cardiology, Orthopedics or Pneumology medical consultations, if needed
  • Medical assistance if needed

Weight Training

Use of weight machines or dumbbells to perform customized exercise routines, execute charges, repetitions and sets. Visible results vary according to age:

  • Juniors - increase of muscular mass and bone mass
  • Adults - hypertrophy and toning
  • Seniors - minimizes the risk of osteoporosis

Cardio fitness

Customized exercise routines performed on stationary bicycles, rowing machines, treadmills, steppers, amongst others. It’s mainly positioned towards:

  • The improvement of cardio respiratory system,
  • The increase of blood composition
  • The development of muscular tissue
  • The reduction of fat

Aerobics

Fitness routines set to music, suitable for all fitness levels. In accordance to their specific characteristics they are subdivide into:

Stretching Program

Stretching, breathing and body balance routine. Develops flexibility, minimizes the risk of injuries and promotes relaxation.

Cardio Vascular Routines

Strengthens the cardio respiratory track and stimulates fat reduction.

  • Step - medium or high intensity level cardio vascular activities, choreographed or not, trough the use of one, two or more steppers
  • Cardio mix - medium or high intensity level mixed cardio vascular activities, choreographed or not, using dance moves (aerobics) or martial arts (tae bo)

Toning Programs

Promote body’s muscular toning, specially working the legs, abs and gluts, by using dumbbells, resistance bands and Fit balls.

  • Targeted Training - overall body workout
  • Abs - training for the abs
  • Gap - training for the gluts, abs and legs
  • Fitball - total body workout

Spinning

Improves cardio respiratory system and reduces fat.

Spinning - also called “indoor cycling” includes one 45 minutes pedaling session set to music, carried out in the exercise room. It’s a group workout with stationary bicycles.

Dance

These programs help to develop coordination and rhythm.

Dance for Kids

Classic, modern and African dance programs for kids between 5 and 12 years old. The goal is to teach dance techniques and promote choreographed dance demonstrations every 3 months.

Senior Program - (Mermaid Group)

A Fitness Plan for people over 60 years of age, aiming their wellbeing.
This Plan includes:

  • Aerobics
  • Weight Training
  • Cardio fitness
  • Stretching
  • Water Aerobics
  • Amongst other customized training

Saunas

Sauna means to alternately “heat up” and cool down.
Sauna can be dry or wet.
In the Dry Sauna, heat is supplied by a heater.
In the Wet Sauna, heat is supplied by water steam.

Contra-indications

  • Not fit to hypertensive people or with blood problems.
  • Only fit for pregnant women under medical supervision.
  • Small children can not be left unattended in the sauna.
  • Do not enter the sauna in great state of fatigue or after eating.

Physiotherapy, massage

  • Physiotherapy treatments with electrotherapy, thermotherapy, hot patches and manipulation
  • Na Massage includes therapeutic and relaxation massages, providing rehabilitation and relaxation benefits

Gymnastics for Kids

A psychomotor program settled for kids. Includes technical lessons and music choreographed sets.

Water Sports

Swimming

Adult swimming lessons aiming physical rehabilitation and maintenance, monitored by qualified instructors. Also fit for people wanting to learn the sport.

Water Aerobics

This water sport offers a cardio vascular or toning workout.

Advantages:

  • Increases strength and develops major muscle groups.
  • Increases blood flow and resistance of cardio-respiratory system.
  • Tones muscles, arms, legs and bottom.
  • Water Aerobics improves articulations flexibility.
